Marriott STARS & LuminousVirtuoso
Osaka, Japan
One MICHELIN Key, 2026
W Osaka stands on Midosuji Boulevard in Shinsaibashi, in central Osaka, with the nightlife of Dotonbori close by.
Our team recommends
The hotel sits in Shinsaibashi, Osaka’s shopping district, with Amerikamura a short walk south and Dotonbori within walking distance. Hommachi and Shinsaibashi stations are a few minutes away on foot, and Osaka Castle is a few stops east on the Chuo Line.
Behind a stark black façade, the interiors are bright and playful, from a long entrance tunnel lined with circles to a lobby ceiling patterned with the traditional asanoha motif. We checked in up in the Living Room on the third floor, the hotel’s lobby and bar, and a lively place for a drink in the evening.
Our corner suite had a separate living room and bedroom, with views over the city on two sides. Each floor has its own colour, ours a vibrant blue, and the marble bathroom had a large round bathtub and a double vanity.
We also toured a Cozy King Room, with a chaise longue by the window, a colourful minibar and a bathroom with both a tub and a shower.
Breakfast was a choice of set menus on a weekday, from American to Japanese, and an attendant walked the room with a tray of pastries and doughnuts.
Sushi UKIYO is a hidden counter for Edomae sushi, and Teppanyaki MYDO has its own street entrance, its walls covered in hand-drawn art by a local artist. The Away Spa floor has the indoor pool, an open-air courtyard and the WET BAR & DECK, open in the warmer months.

Our team recommends
Our team found it right for travellers who want a lively, design-led hotel in the middle of Osaka’s shopping and nightlife.
From our guests
Our guests write about the rooms, the breakfasts and the location.
From our guests
Our guests usually stay in a Cozy King Room, and there are rooms with two double beds too.
Our team recommends
For views on two sides, request a corner room. For more space, the Urban Suite and the W Suite add a separate living area.
Without a suite, the corner rooms are the Premier rooms. The suite we’d choose is the Supreme Suite, high in the tower, with a dining room, an open kitchen and wall-to-wall windows over the city. For a family, request connecting rooms, which the hotel offers in every category.
From our guests
It was a beautiful hotel and the rooms were incredibly well appointed. We had everything we needed and the closet space was excellent! The breakfasts were amazing – one of the absolute highlights of the trip for me. We looked forward to it every day. Also, the luggage transfer was seamless and so easy!
It’s new, modern and very clean … The room upgrade to the spectacular corner room was amazing … Beautiful views and overall a great room … Modern rooms, good vibes and an amazing location for all things Osaka.
We loved W Osaka. Had a great time there. Excellent service.
