Montreal, Quebec, Canada
W Montreal stands on Square Victoria, between Old Montreal and the heart of downtown.
Our team recommends
The hotel faces Square Victoria in the Quartier International, with the Square-Victoria–OACI metro station at the front door and an entrance from the metro below for winter days. The Old Port, Sainte-Catherine Street and Crescent Street are each about 15 minutes on foot.
The lobby lounge is a play of colours and lights, including cube-shaped fixtures inspired by Habitat 67. Upstairs, the hallways run white walls over black floors marked with golden arrows.
We stayed in the Extreme WOW Suite, two storeys high, with a sofa shaped like the island of Montreal, a round cinema screen, a table for eight and floor-to-ceiling windows onto a wide balcony over the square. The king bed sits under a great structure of golden lights modelled on Habitat 67, and the raised bathroom has a sunken tub.
The suite is made for a celebration: we spent nearly 30 hours in it, with friends over for the evening and music late into the night. The WOW Suites are on two levels too, with the living room below, the bedroom up a staircase and a balcony over the square.
The manager on duty was glad to show us around, and even the king rooms below the suites have plenty of space, with a chaise and a large bathroom. We found it a perfect way to celebrate the end of a chapter in the city.

Our team recommends
Our team found the suites right for a celebration or a gathering of friends, and the central location right for business downtown.
Our team recommends
For a celebration, book the Extreme WOW Suite, the largest of the hotel’s EWOW suites. A WOW Suite gives you two levels and a balcony in a smaller space.
The hotel now books its top suites as Penthouses, each with a private terrace: the Penthouse Corner Suite has the largest terrace in the hotel, with ribbons over the bed in homage to Cirque du Soleil, and the Penthouse II Suite is on two storeys. If you’d rather not take a suite, request a Superior room with a park view, larger than the standard rooms, with a deep tub and a separate shower.
