Our team recommends
The hotel stands on the river in the middle of the CBD, with Queen Street Mall and a river ferry stop close by. Its glowing Ws make it easy to find from all over the city.
Check-in was warm, and while our suite was being readied we were sent up to the WET Deck for a cocktail on the balcony over the river. The keys were brought to us there.
Our suite on the 29th floor was made for entertaining, with a fully stocked bar, two sofas and speakers through every room. A large sliding door closed off the bedroom, which looked over the river, and the bathroom had a trough-shaped tub, two sinks and a double shower.
The rooms we toured felt roomy too, and every room at the hotel has a bathtub.
AWAY Spa fills most of the fifth floor, with steam rooms, saunas and hot tubs open to every guest. The striped pool deck is covered, so it works in almost any weather.
We left thinking differently about W hotels, and we’d come back with friends for a weekend in Brisbane.

Our guests usually stay in a king room with a partial river view, and now and then in a suite. For the river in full, book a Spectacular King.

For room to entertain, choose a suite. The Marvellous Suite has a living room with its own bar and a bedroom over the river.
The suites have new names: for the high floors and the river in full, request a Supreme Suite; for a family, the Supreme Double Suite on the top floor sleeps four and can connect to a second room. If you’d rather not take a suite, we’d choose a Premier King, a corner room over the river. For a celebration, Penthouse I sits on the top floor, with a full bar and a large dining space.
