The resort is about ten minutes from Langkawi’s airport, set in a forest that runs down to the sea. Check-in happens in an open-air Arrival Lodge, where we sat with a welcome drink looking over the trees while an associate took care of everything.
Our Rainforest Junior Suite was open plan, with sliding doors between the living, dressing and sleeping areas, warm wood floors and a balcony looking toward the sea. The bathroom was enormous, in green and white marble, with a soaking tub big enough for two and a rain shower.
The grounds are hilly, so buggies take guests everywhere, and the resort felt private: we rarely crossed paths with anyone. Down at the main pool and the beach, attendants set up our loungers with iced water and cold towels.
Horizon, the adults-only infinity pool, is where we spent most of our time. Its edge seems to run straight into the sea, and it is one of the best pools we have swum in anywhere, above all at sunset.
