The resort is built into the cliffs of Nusa Dua. The lobby and some of the villas sit up top, looking out to the Indian Ocean, and the suites, pools and gardens spread along the shore below.
We were welcomed with tea, and someone from the front desk sat with us to explain the resort before walking us to our room. Even the entry rooms here are suites, and ours was a Sawangan Junior Suite with Pool Access, on the ground floor of its wing.
From our terrace we could step straight into a shallow lagoon pool shared by only a few suites, far quieter than the main pools. Inside, the open bathroom had a tub, a shower and double sinks, with sliding doors to close it off.
The main pools are two infinity pools that cascade into one another, with loungers set right in the shallow water and the beach beyond. Come early in the morning for the quiet, and stay out for the sunset over the ocean.
Each week brings a list of activities, from morning yoga and surf lessons to Indonesian lessons and cocktail classes. We could have stayed far longer without running out of things to do.
