Our team recommends
The hotel shares the Parq Vancouver complex with the JW Marriott, beside BC Place on the south-west edge of downtown. Yaletown–Roundhouse station is about five minutes on foot, with SkyTrain to the airport, and Gastown is about a 20-minute walk.
The lobby, up on the sixth floor, is West Coast through and through, all wood and warm light. The check-in desk is made from a Douglas fir, set inside a glass box 25 feet tall.
Our King room was dark wood and local art, with a large headboard and its own reading light. The bathroom had a vanity of wood and marble and a large marble shower, and the king bed gave us a good night’s sleep.
We ended the evening with cocktails and the views on the sixth-floor patio of The Victor, the steakhouse. The D/6 Lounge, a terrace bar on the same floor, opens onto the rooftop park.

If you don’t need a suite, we’d request a corner King room, a little larger than the others, with a sitting area and a view of BC Place. For a separate living room, the One Bedroom Suite is more than three times the size of a standard room, with a dining area and a powder room for visitors.
The three bi-level signature suites each have a character of their own. Apartment 108 looks over False Creek, with a pool table, a fireplace and a large patio, and The LOFT Suite has a grand piano and a patio set for eight. For a family or friends, The DEN has two bedrooms upstairs, a billiards table by the fireplace and a Japanese soaking tub.
