Shanghai, China
Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star, 2026
Park Hyatt Shanghai fills the 79th to 93rd floors of the Shanghai World Financial Center, in the Lujiazui district of Pudong, across the river from the Bund.
Our team recommends
The hotel fills the top floors of the Shanghai World Financial Center in Lujiazui, Pudong’s financial district, across the Huangpu from the Bund. A quiet entrance at the foot of the tower leads to lifts that rise to the lobby on the 87th floor.
Our room faced the Oriental Pearl and Jin Mao towers, in a calm modern Chinese style of pale walls and dark wood, with the king bed turned to the window. The hallways are some of the quietest we have walked.
The bathroom comes in two parts, with double sinks and a large wet room for the bath and a shower with powerful pressure. One panel by the bed runs the lights and the blinds.
Breakfast is served at 100 Century Avenue on the 91st floor, with dishes to order and a long buffet. The xiaolongbao, the noodle bar and the Shanghai-style wontons were all excellent.
The pool, the gym and the spa share the 85th floor, and the pool is a good one for laps, with the city spread out below.

Our team recommends
Our team found it right for business in Lujiazui, and for anyone who loves a quiet, minimal hotel high above a city.
From our guests
Our guests write about a suite upgrade and the thoughtful touches the hotel arranged.
From our guests
Our guests stay in a king room with a river view.
Our team recommends
The hotel has only a handful of suites, and they are often taken months ahead. If you want one, book early.
If the suites are taken, or you don’t need one, request a Bund View Deluxe King, facing the Bund and about a third larger than the River View Kings, with a walk-in closet. The suite we’d choose is the Bund View Suite, about 1,400 square feet, looking across the river to the Bund. With children, we’d book the Diplomat Suite, with two king beds, a living room, a dining area and a study.
From our guests
I really appreciate the complimentary suite upgrade and the thoughtful amenities they arranged.
