Our team recommends
The hotel fills the lower floors of a tower above Esplanade MRT station, within walking distance of Marina Bay and Clarke Quay. A large fountain marks the entrance, and the design inside is bolder and more playful than at most JW Marriotts.
Our Deluxe King room was modern and spacious, with a long sofa, a desk and sockets by the bed. The bathroom had a deep tub and a separate rain shower, and a few Southeast Asian cakes were waiting for us as a welcome.
The Executive Lounge, across an enclosed footbridge on the second floor, serves breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapés. In the morning there is a noodle station where every bowl is made to order, and at night a live station for laksa.
Breakfast at Beach Road Kitchen is one of the largest spreads we have seen, with curry, Hainanese chicken rice and pancakes among its stations; go early, as it fills by nine. Up on the 18th floor, the open-air pool looks across the skyline to Marina Bay Sands.

Suites here start with the Deluxe Suite, with a separate living room and Executive Lounge access. The one to request is the Premier Marina Bay Suite, about 1,080 square feet, with the bay outside the window and a separate bathtub and shower.
For a family, the Chairman Suite has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with Marina Bay outside. With one child and no need for a suite, the Premier Family Room is designed for a family of three.
