Our team recommends
Grosvenor House faces Hyde Park across Park Lane, with Marble Arch the nearest Tube station. Buckingham Palace and the West End are within an easy walk, and Mayfair’s restaurants and shops are all around.
Uniformed doormen met us at the car and took our bags, and the lobby is grand, all marble, brass and warm amber light. The Great Room, the hotel’s famous ballroom, was hosting an awards evening while we were there.
The JW Marriott Executive Lounge was the highlight of our stay, with plush seating, a generous breakfast of pastries, fruit and hot dishes, and a light supper in the evening on a menu that changed every night.

If you’d rather not take a suite, we’d choose an Executive Room, for the JW Marriott Executive Lounge, with breakfast, canapés and evening drinks. The Executive Suites add a separate living room looking across Mayfair. For Hyde Park outside the window, choose a Park View Suite, or for more room and a dining area, a Premium Park View Suite.
The suites we’d single out are the Park View and Premium Park View Suites with a balcony over the park, so request one when booking. For a family, choose a Family Room, with two double beds for four, and both Park View suite types can connect to a neighbouring room.
