Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Humaniti stands on Rue de la Gauchetière in the heart of downtown Montreal, with the city’s historic sites a few steps from its door.
Our team recommends
The hotel takes the corner of the Humaniti tower, between the Old Port and the shops of Sainte-Catherine Street. Place-d’Armes and Square-Victoria–OACI metro stations are both close by, and we found it hard to beat for getting around downtown.
The lobby is bold and full of life, with lofty ceilings and colourful furniture, and the front desk team welcomed us warmly. We stayed in a Haiku Suite on the 14th floor.
The Haiku Suite feels like a Montreal apartment. A foyer with a big closet and a powder room opens onto a square living room with corners for dining, working and relaxing, where round pillars and bare concrete give it an industrial edge. The desk looks out over downtown.
The bedroom has a king bed, and we still remember the jet-black bathrobes. Beyond it, the bathroom has a soaking tub and a separate shower.
Breakfast at Restaurant h3, on the second floor, was a pleasure. The eggs Benedict came with Nordic shrimp and caramelized bacon, an unusual pairing the kitchen carried off well, and the viennoiseries were very good too.
The Hyper Gym spreads over the 8th and 9th floors, with rowers, a spin room and curved treadmills among its machines. The spa and the rooftop pool and terrace are up on the 9th floor too.
Its modern-industrial design sets it apart from the other big-brand hotels downtown. We left wanting to come back in summer, for a drink by the pool.
From our guests

Our team recommends
Our team found it right for a short city stay with meetings around town, and for anyone who likes a hotel with a design of its own.
From our guests
Our guests stay in a Hop room, with one king bed, and many choose the Haiku Suite.
Our team recommends
The Haiku Suite is the one we’d choose: an apartment-sized suite with its own living room, second only to the Héro Suite.
If you’d rather not take a suite, request a Hibiscus room, a king with two full walls of floor-to-ceiling windows. A family of four does well in a Harmonie, with two queen beds and some of the hotel’s best views, or in connecting rooms. The Héro Suite is twice the size of the Haiku, with separate living, dining and sleeping areas for entertaining.
