Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth fills a city block in downtown Montreal, on René-Lévesque Boulevard West, directly above Central Station.
Our team recommends
Arriving by train is as easy as it gets: the station is right below the hotel. Mount Royal Park is about 25 minutes away on foot, and the Old Port and Notre-Dame Basilica about 20.
We stayed in the Mile End Suite on the 20th floor, in deep blue with a 1960s flair and a wall of art inspired by Montreal’s outdoor staircases. The living and dining room seats eight, and the bathroom has a freestanding soaking tub and Le Labo products.
The Fairmont Gold floor works like a hotel within the hotel. Its lounge serves breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres, and it’s a bright, quiet place to work, looking out over Marie-Reine-du-Monde Cathedral.
Downstairs, the indoor pool has a hot tub, and the gym is large and well equipped. Rosélys serves French cooking in an art deco room, and Nacarat is the cocktail bar.
We came away recommending the Gold floor over the standard rooms, and the specialty suites when the stay is a special one.
From our guests

Our team recommends
Our team found it right for a short city stay, an arrival by train or a meeting in a suite.
From our guests
Our guests write most about the friendly staff and the central location.
From our guests
Most of our guests stay in a Fairmont King. Some take a Fairmont Gold King for the lounge, and now and then a suite.
Our team recommends
The Fairmont Gold rooms felt the most refined, with views of the cathedral and the skyline. For a family, a Junior Suite has a sofa bed in its own sitting room and a second, half bathroom.
Among the Gold rooms, we’d choose a Large Signature King on the 20th floor, larger than a Junior Suite, with a sitting area and a spa bathroom. For a special stay, the Mile-End Suite, our team’s choice, seats eight at its dining table, and the John Lennon and Yoko Ono Suite recreates their 1969 Bed-In for Peace. A family fits best in the Saint Henri Suite, with two king bedrooms, a kitchenette and two bathrooms.
From our guests
It was absolutely beautiful there.
