Prince Collection’s notes

Our team recommends

The building connects underground to Shimbashi and Shiodome stations, so you can walk much of the way to Ginza indoors, or stroll there in about 20 minutes. The Hamarikyu Gardens are right at the foot of the tower.

Our King Bay View Suite, about 775 square feet, had a separate living room and bedroom in light and dark wood, with cherry blossoms woven into the carpet. Turndown brought Conrad pyjamas, and the windows looked over the gardens and the bay.

Breakfast at Cerise has a rice bowl station with mentaiko, onsen tamago and seafood, and a lobster omelette worth ordering. In the Executive Lounge on the 37th floor, the sea urchin scramble was the best thing we ate in the hotel.

The indoor pool on the 29th floor faces the skyline, beside the gym and Mizuki Spa. For an evening drink, TwentyEight looks out over the city at sunset.

We’d call it an excellent base for any visit to Tokyo: central, and easy to get around from.

Who it suits

Our team recommends

Our team found it right for the first nights of a trip to Japan, settling in near Ginza with the trains at the door.

From our guests

Our guests write most about the night view, the service and the breakfasts.

Which room to ask for

From our guests

Most of our guests stay in a city-view twin room, and some take a bay-view king.

Our team recommends

Bay View rooms and suites sit one category above City View, and we’d choose the bay. Even the standard rooms are spacious, with a separate shower and bathtub.

For more room than the Bay View Suite we stayed in, choose a Corner Bay View Suite, on the corner of the tower over Hamarikyu Gardens and the bay. Families and longer stays do well in the Two Bedroom Deluxe Suite, with a kitchen, a washer-dryer and Executive Lounge access. If allergies are a concern, request the Bay View King Pure Wellness Room, treated against allergens and fitted with a medical-grade air purifier.

What our guests say

I just love the Conrad Tokyo! The service is so excellent – from the front desk checking you in, to the concierge, to room service! Our room was so nice and comfortable, and even the smell of the hotel is amazing.

D.S., February 2024

The hotel also came through on the upgrade, and I was assigned a Bay View room, exactly as I was hoping for. And what a view … All in all, a wonderful stay.
